(WIP) Bobba Fett

Kit: The Most Notorious Bounty Hunter in the Galaxy Bandai Scale: 1/12

A build just for fun.

The Kit

I really enjoyed the Bandai Boba Fett “The Most Notorious Bounty Hunter in the Galaxy” kit. The biggest thing that stood out to me was how well everything fit together. Bandai’s engineering is really good, and the build felt more like putting together a high-end action figure than fighting with a traditional model kit. Out of the box it looks good, but I think most modelers would agree it really benefits from some extra paint and weathering. The molded colors are fine, but adding scratches, dirt, and some shading is what really makes Boba Fett look like the worn-down bounty hunter he is supposed to be. The downsides are pretty minor — there are some seams to clean up, the plastic can feel a little soft, and I would skip the stickers and go with paint or decals if you want a better finish. Overall, I think it is a great fun build. It is not the most challenging kit out there, but it is a really satisfying one, and with a little extra effort it can turn into a fantastic shelf piece.

The Build

Assembled and ready for some paint. I am going to attempt a different approach. Will describe only if it works.

Most of the weathering is complete. Next are the lower legs and base. I need to add dirt and such.
